Square with exhibition of the former Town Hall walls

Monuments

Information

  • Address: ul. Armii Krajowej, 74-400 Dębno
On this site stood the first town hall in Dębno. Its construction was funded by Princess Catherine of Brunswick in 1570. After a fire in 1694 burned down the town hall, it was again built from scratch in 1820. The building was rebuilt in 1891, with the addition of a tower in 1907 and a municipal savings union in the south around 1930. In early February 1945, it was burnt down by the Red Army. On the site of the former town hall, a square has been created with an exhibition - in the form of glazed pyramids - of uncovered extant walls (most of which are now under the pavement and Armii Krajowej Street).
