The Różańsko Forest Inspectorate had already existed since 1945, and its headquarters were located in Grzybno at that time. In 1958 it was merged with the Myślibórz Forest Inspectorate.
The Różańsko Forest Inspectorate was re-established on 1 Jan 1995, and it was created from the southern part of the Myślibórz Forest Inspectorate. At the time of its establishment, the area of the forest inspectorate was 13,050 ha. The new forest inspectorate was given its headquarters in a residential house on a forest estate. The history of the forests of the current Różańsko Forest Inspectorate is barely known. The species composition and forest stand structure suggest that clear-cutting was the dominant management method before the Second World War.
As of 01.01.2013, the area of the Różańsko Forest Inspectorate increased by 726.24 ha as a result of taking over part of the land from the Mieszkowice and Dębno Forest Districts.
