In Lubiechów Górny one can see the filial church of St. Joseph the Worker, dating from the second half of the 13th century, belonging to the parish of Czachów. The church was built of stone blocks on a rectangular plan, with a tall brick tower added in the 15th century in the west side of the nave. The tower consists of three sections, a wide rectangular base, a slender quadrangle storey and an octagonal section covered by a bell cupola. In the lower part of the monumental ogival portal, there is a chequerboard masonry symbol of still unexplained significance. An episode of Zbigniew Nienacki’s book “Księga strachów” (The Book of Fears) from his series of adventure novels for young people about a character called Pan Samochodzik is set in Lubiechów Górny. It is associated with a chequerboard.
