History and monuments trail

The trail is 40 km long and therefore difficult, but interesting. It probably needs to be split into two, maybe three stages. It starts in Sarbinowo in the south of the municipality, runs for a few kilometres through the neighbouring municipality of Boleszkowice, passes through Dębno itself, including the most interesting sites, and then heads north of the municipality, ending in Warnice. Various moments in history have been marked along this route. The first, oldest traces of human presence date back to the late Palaeolithic. In the Middle Ages, the Knights Templar, the Knights of St John, the Teutonic Knights and finally the New March all farmed this land. These lands were the arena of wars, including the Seven Years’ War between the Prussians and the Russians, and were later seized by France under Napoleon. At the end of the Second World War, there was fierce fighting with Nazi troops. But during periods of peace, the foundations of industrial civilisation were built here.
