Humboldt trail

Bicycle routes

Information

  • Distance: 24.7 km
  • Duration: 1 h 25 min
  • Sum of ascentings: 142 m
  • Downhill: 143 m
The cycle trail was named after Alexander von Humboldt, as this researcher, scientist and traveller was the owner of the Dyszno (Ringenwalde) estate at the turn of the 18th and 19th century, through which the trail runs. Dyszno is home to the most interesting historic park in the municipality of Dębno. Palace parks have been preserved in every town through which the trail passes. Particularly attention should be paid to Dyszno, which, apart from the park, has the largest number of old trees in the Dębno municipality, mainly oaks and lime trees, including huge, awe-inspiring specimens with a trunk circumference of over 6 metres. All these trees are recorded in the register of natural monuments. It should be added that the originator of the term “Natural Monument” was actually Alexander von Humboldt.
