Trail of the Knights Templar and Knights Hospitaller

The route runs mostly along tarmac roads, although there are sections of cobblestone and even dirt forest roads. The Myśla River is always nearby, closer or farther from the route (they say it is the most Templar river in Poland), and you cross it several times by bridges. Almost entirely in the midst of forests, the towns passed along the way usually have links to the Knights Templar and the Knights of St John, as well as to the Teutonic Knights. Special attention should be paid to Chwarszczany, a village where the Templars settled after a grant by Władysław Odonic, Duke of Greater Poland, in 1232. The Knights Templar chapel, ranked among the 100 most important religious architecture sites in Poland, still stands there today.
